The SCA 99 Girls Black Team, coached by Lee Summerscales, finished their season second in Northern California after they were defeated 4-1 by the number one-seeded DeAnza Force in the NorCal State Cup Championship game on Saturday, January 28 in Woodland. The SCA team had previously defeated the second seeded Mustang Magic and the third seeded Santa Rosa United Ice to reach the championship game. Midfielder Hannah De Voe scored SCA’s only goal with a high, hard kick over the goalie’s head into the left corner of the goal from about 18 yards out just before the end of the first half to make the score 2-1 at halftime.
