Dear SCA Parents,
As we begin the upcoming Fall season I would ask each of you to strive to keep the proper perspective about the beautiful game of soccer.
Please read the article listed on the left titled, Parental Support - The Key To Peak Performance. I consider this article be very educational for parents. Being a parent of several premier level players myself, I try to follow some of the suggestions noted in the article linked below.
The SCA coaches main goal is to get and keep the kids excitement about soccer and to help them create a life long love for the game. If this happens then they can take away valuable lessons that can be applied later in life and ultimately allow them to become a more successful individual. The game of soccer can also teach them how to work in a "TEAM".
The passion for the game and the development of the player are both critical to the overall success of the player and the SCA program. Equally as important is the role the parents and adults play within the club. We cannot forget how vital it is that the adults represent SCA with class and dignity, and ultimately be an example to the children in the program. An example of this modeling includes coaches and parents staying off the referees and showing respect and sportsmanship to the opponent. I would ask that you take the time to discuss these points as a family and remind your player of the importance of loving the game, for working as a team and modeling the behavior and sportsmanship that should be modeled within SCA.
I welcome your input and ask that you please e-mail me at andrew@ziemer.com with any questions or feedback.
