On August 7th thru 9th, the SCA 94 Girls traveled to Danville, CA to pick up a 1st place medal at the Mustang Stampede tournament. SCA defeated Central Valley Flames 1-0 in the championship game, scoring the only goal 2 minutes into the game. Earlier in the tournament, SCA had lost to Cental Valley 3-1. They also defeated Carlsbad Elite 3-2, DeAnza Force 1-0 and SSC 93 Faridnia 2-0, and tied Coastal Valley SC 1-1. Mustang is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the nation and this is a proud accomplishment for the girls. SCA 97 Girls Compete With the Best at Surf Cup!
On July 23rd and 24th, the SCA 97 Girls, coached by Eric Parrish, traveled to San Diego, California to play in the prestigious Surf Cup tournament. This tournament is reserved for the top teams from all over the US. The girls tied the New Jersey State Champions, Montclair United SC Colchesters 0-0. Then they had a close loss to West Coast FC (CAS) 3-2. Finally they defeated the Washington State Champions, Crossfire Premier 96, 1-0. They proved that they could compete with the best of the best. SCA 95 Girls Take 1st Place at Pleasanton Rage!
The SCA 95 Girls, coached by Trisha Ziemer, took 1st place in the U16 Gold 1 Flight at Pleasanton Rage College Showcase on July 23-25. They were the only team in the group of 8 to win 3 games and tie one. On Friday they defeated Northwest Nationals Premier (WA) 2-1 with goals by Selena Caruso and Cierra Iribarne. On Saturday, they tied Laguna Hills Eclipse (CAS) 2-2. Both goals by Taylor Halstenson. Later they defeated DMCV Sharks (CAS) 3-1, with goals by Alicia Angotti, Maddy Goertzen, and Cierra Iribarne, 2 assists by Rachel Gugel. On Sunday, the 95 Girls defeated Crossfire Premier (WAS), 1-0. The only goal by Theresa Mateo. Also contributing stongly to this weekend’s success were, Kelsey Borders, Natalie Bunch, Dayna Dolcini, Emily Donica, Gabby George, Ashley LaFranchi, Jules Lieb, Mariah Meuse, Ashley Moffett, and Jene Palmer. SCA U23 Girls Defeat MFC Lady Boca's 3-0!
The U23 Girls traveled to Manteca on July 14th to defeat the MFC Lady Boca’s 3-0. Rebecca Mateo (Belmont Abbey College) scored 2 goals and Noelle LaPrevotte (SCA 94 Girls) scored 1 to make it a shutout. Also playing on this summer’s team are Megan Kendall (Humboldt State), Anika Lindemuth (Dominican University), Kirsten Hilbert (Cal Lutheran), Kiera Woerner (Belmont Abbey), Kara Cunningham (SF State), Alyssa Benjamin (UCSB), Ashley Luis (SRJC), Colleen McNamee (Dominguez Hills) and from the SCA 94 Girls, Rebecca Yim, Nicole Beecham, Kylie Friedlander, Michelle Garrone, Lindsay Gehring, Rika Goto, Aubrey Hagens, Hannah Roberts, Kelly O’Conner, Jenny Saxton, Avery Cushman, Caley Johnson, Michelle King, and Emily Wilber. Chris and Renee Ziemer, Kerin Mctaggart and daughter Cami Celebrate in South Africa
Chris Ziemer and family were able to meet up with Kerin Mctaggart and her family while in South Africa during the World Cup. Kerin’s family is from South Africa and she was able to spend a month there duing the World Cup competitions. Her daughter Cami plays for the 97 Girls.
SCA 96 Girls Win Davis Legacy Tournament!
The SCA 96 Girls came out as champions at the Davis Legacy College Showcase July 9th-11th. The team had a fantastic weekend with only one goal scored against the team in 5 games. They started the tournament with a 5-0 win against the home team – Davis Legacy. Goals were scored by Lizzie Woerner,Katie Bipes, and a hat trick by Mimi Gallo. SCA won the next game 9-0 playing Sonoma United. Goals by Gallo, Paulina Lorenc, Kaylee Castro, Woerner, Jaclynn Burggraf, Selena Mogannam and a hat trick for Taylor Ziemer. The following day another victory against Diablo FC: 4-0. Goals by Woerner, Mogannam, Bipes and Shelby Evenich.
On July 8th, Sonoma County rivals SCA and Santa Rosa United U23 Girls met at Lucchesi Field in a game that ended 3-2 in favor of SCA. SCA scored on a corner kick by Rebecca Mateo and 2 goals by Michelle Garone. Representing their colleges this summer are Keira Woerner (Belmont Abbey College, NC), Kara Cunningham (San Francisco State). SCA 95 Girls SSU Six-A-Side Champions!
On July 3rd, the SCA 95 Girls defeated 5 teams at Sonoma State University to receive maximum points and become the SSU Seawolves 6v6 Champions for the U17 Girls age bracket. They defeated Sonoma X-treme 8-2, SSJ Hurricanes 9-3, Legends 6-5, SCA U17 4-1, and Laguna Lady Oaks 7-1. Thank you to guest coach Russell Bunch and congratulations to the girls! SCA 96 Girls Play in Italy!
From June 25th to July 4th, thirteen girls from Sonoma County Alliance went to Cessenatica, Italy to play in the Italy Cup Soccer Tournament. Team Rockstar, as the girls called themselves, was one of four teams from the US. After playing teams from Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, they were 2-2-2 in the tournament and took 6th place!, Trisha Ziemer was the coach and the players were Arianna Martinez, Maddy Thomas, Jackie Burggraf, Serena Mogannam, Mimi Gallo, Bella Santia, Shelby Evenich, Becca Benjamin, Katie Bipes, Paulie Lorenc, Erika Payer, Emily Panacci and Kaylee Castro.

SCA defeated FSC American River 8-1 and Ceres Earthquake FC 2-1 on Saturday, and then Placer Blue 1-0 in the championship game on Sunday. This is the beginning of what appears to be a great season. SCA 99 Boys Norcal Spring League Silver Champions!
The SCA 99 Boys, coached by Neil Turnbull, captured the NorCal Spring League Silver Region 5 title on the final weekend of play with a resounding 10-0 victory over Healdsburg. Heading into the last match, the squad was tied for first place with Santa Rosa United, but secured the championship on goal differential. Both teams finished with identical 7-1-1 records, but SCA outscored all opponents a massive 44 goals to 10.
It's Time for the 5th Annual Sonoma County Classic Soccer Tournament!!
The 5th Annual Sonoma County Classic Soccer Tournament is a Division 1 US Club sanctioned tournament for Girls and Boys U11 to U14. The tournament will be played at Sonoma State University and M park in Sonoma County, CA on September 4th and 5th.
