Melissa Madrid, who played for the SCA 92 Girls and was also a standout at Casa Grande High School, was a first-team selection to the 2011 Daktronics, Inc., All-South Region women’s soccer team. Madrid, who is a junior midfielder at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida led the Bucs in points with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. She led the Sunshine State Conference in goals during conference games with seven and had a goal or assist in 10 of the Bucs’ 16 games. She was tied for first in the conference in overall goals and second in points. It was Madrid's third time on the All-Region team and the first time on the first team.
