About 10 minutes into the first half Symone Groll-Nevel dribble through the Lamorinda defenders and put one into the back of the net, which was immediately followed by a Lamorinda goal to tie it at 1-1. Then Haley Barker blasted a beautiful goal over the goalie’s head from outside the penalty box on a free kick. Minutes later, Lamorinda scored again the exact same way. With about five minutes left in the half, Alex Rooney connected with a great shot to the left corner of the goal to put SCA up 3-2 at halftime. The second half continued to be a battle and goalkeeper, Alice Gacegu, was taking a beating as she was determined to defend the goal. The score remained the same until Symone Groll-Nevel put in another goal, to bring the score to 4-2. With seconds left on the clock Lamorinda put in their last goal on a penalty kick. The whistle blew and SCA won 4-3!
