SCA Board Meeting Minutes - Dec 12 2005

Board Reps Present:  David Rabbitt (U9G/94B), Jennifer Lemos (93B), Tyra Moore (96BBlk),
Joe Leisek (89B), Lee Hill (94BWht), Mike Klemenko (95B), David Carballal (96BRed), Hajo Birthemlmer (94B), Bridget (95G), Denise Stave (92G, 93G), Pete Hulsman (96G), Marsha Caprara (91G),  Carrie Korbus (90B), Terry Catton (88G), Karen Turner (90GWht).  Reminder:  meeting absence will cost teams $25.  

The meeting was called to order by Danny Ortega at 7:30 p.m.
    Distict V Winter League Fees -  RPSL & PYSL has agreed to cover these fees.  In the future, SCA will need to request of PYSL that they cover these fees OR teams will need to budget for this.  A suggestion was made that SCA host the HOME games.  

SCA Awards Ceremony – Joni and Katya are organizing this ceremony  for a Thursday in February.
Eight teams will be receiving league awards.

NorCal Winter Cup Competition & U-9/10 Tournament Report – Five teams have advanced.  Games will be played this weekend from 9 a.m – 4:30 p.m. – 36 referees are needed.

SCA Photo Day Makeup – Don Angotti distributed photos.  There are still six teams that haven’t had their photos taken.  Makeup date to be announced.

DOC Report :
    Tournaments -   Some teams will attend Celtic Cup in January.  Nomads Tournament – 17B attended.  U19G & U16G attended Irvine tourney- good college coach exposure.
    SCA Soccer Development Academy – for U9/10s – last weekend of January – SCA coaches will facilitate.
    SCA Winter Team Camps – Week of December 19th at Lucchesi from 8:30 – 2 p.m. Details are on website.  Request made to notify parents earlier in year of these opportunities.
    State Cup Draw – please see Josh’s e-mail for U11 – 13’s draws.
    July 4th Weekend in San Bernardino – older teams will apply to this tourney rather than Boise, ID.
    Class I & III Tryouts – will take place simultaneously this year.

Registrar’s Report – Terry reminded us that rosters will be frozen prior to State Cup.  Please see November minutes for details.  Re US Club Soccer and roster customization call Terri Catton re transfers and adds.  RE CYSA – there is a maximum of three roster adds/transfers.

SCA Tryout Committee for ’06 Season – Karen requested assistance for set-up of table/chairs and registration, and player number organization.  If interested, please see website for her e-mail address.

Fields’ Report – for Prince Park practice you must pick up the key at Lucchesi Center.  Light box is at north end of backstop ; keys must be returned that night or in a.m. or $100 non-return fee will be assessed.  Tracie will send directions in an e-mail.  Pete Hulsman will attend Rohnert Park field meeting in January.

Election – Stephanie reminded teams that each team manager must register two voting members through the League website http://www.scasoccer.com by December 18, 2005.  Failure to register will result in forfeiture to vote.  A valid and unique email address it required for each voting member.  December 18th – nominations are due.  Those nominated need to submit a brief paragraph on why they feel they would be a good fit for the Board.  January 9 – 15 – voting open on SCA’s website.
    Candidates will be invited to introduce themselves at the Monday, January 9th meeting at Meadow School.

Uniforms and Merchandise -  Danny announced that SCA blankets are available for $28.
