The meeting was called to order by Danny Ortega at 7 p.m. NorCal Winter Cup: Dave reported that NorCalPremiere.com has all the information; the schedule is currently being assembled. Teams will play in groups of three on December 3 & 4, 17 & 18, and January 7 & 8. Finals will be held on February 4 & 5 in Clovis. U-9’s 10’s Tournament – November 19 & 20: Bill Poteracke is scheduling volunteers for this weekend’s tournament at M Park. Joni announced that the concession stand is available for a team to host on Saturday night from 4 – 9 p.m. Open Board Positions: Club Coordinator, Youth Coordinator, Treasurer, and Booster Representative. Nominations will be accepted until December 18, 2005 at the following e-mail address: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it Anyone can nominate; nominee must be in good standing with CYSA, Leagues and Club. Nominee will need to provide a brief statement of why they feel they are a good fit for the position – statements will be posted on the SCA website. Voting will take place from January 8 – 14. Results will be announced at the February meeting. Each team will cast two votes consisting of one from the assistant coach or manager, and the other by a general representative from the team. Club Survey Results: Forty-six percent of the Club families participated in the survey. The survey results noted that people are pleased with the Club’s communication, Academy, and team experiences. Results showed that improvement is needed for the Spring NorCal. Fifty percent of those who participated in survey, do not wish to be charged a volunteer fee. This reminds us all that additional, reliable volunteers are needed. Members are encouraged to complete future surveys. Follow-up to SCA Vision Meeting: Committee chairs are as follows: Fields, Facilities and Equipment – David Rabbitt, Communication – Phillipe Paravicini, Admin. & Club Structure – Gina Monraz, Club Event – Jane Rabbitt & Lisa Geoffrion, and Finance & Revenue – Katya Anderson. Meeting dates will be set; additional committee members are welcome. Meeting announcements will be on the website. Committees will examine areas to help Club operate more efficiently. DOC Report: Winter league for Older teams will consist of playing two – three weekends. Josh explained that Celtic Cup is a guaranteed acceptance – other tourneys for this same time frame lack the field quality and variety of competition that Celtic Cup offers. 75% of the SCA teams finished in the top three in league. U9s and U10s had fine finishes in league. Reminder: U10s payment commitment is through the end of November (please see contract.) Kathi bills at beginning of month – Josh invoices at the end of the month, so teams may see some discrepancy between the two invoices but they will be reconciled. Statements have been submitted to treasurers; they are reconciled through October 31st. Board Member Additions/Resignations: Tom Siragusa has resigned as United’s Liaison Rep. to the SCA Board. He will continue to be “a good friend to SCA.” Pete Hulsman has joined the Board as Fields Representative. He has served as the Developmental Coordinator for the Adobe Club. He will search for additional playing fields in our community. Dana Teichera is our new Referee Assigner. His ideas for growth in this area include: a mentoring program for new referees, encourage each team to have two licensed refs, and possible requirement that 14 year old players become certified referees. Fireworks Booth Fundraiser: Kathi Ferrari is applying for permit in Petaluma – a SITE is needed for the booth, as it is probable that we will receive a permit. Team Photo Make-up Day: Makeups will be scheduled with Shooting Stars for after Dec. 17th. Player Assistance: there will likely be one more funding for State Cup – committee needs to meet. Try-Out Process: There will be four days of tryouts coordinated with United. Class I & III will be invited to the first tryout. Roster Freeze Dates: Terri announced that all changes to rosters must be to her (for Rohnert Park registered teams) or Karen (Petaluma registered teams) by the following dates: U11- 13 B & G – January 2nd – State Cup is January 21 & 22. U14-15G & 16 – 18 B – March 5th – State Cup is March 25-26 U14 – 15B & 16 – 18 G – March 12th – State Cup is April 1 – 2.
