The SCA 98 Girls, coached by Trevor White, took 2^nd place at the Ajax Invitational United Soccer tournament in Modesto on January 9^th and 10^th.  They defeated Bullard FC Blue 2-1, Ajax United Elite 2-0, and Ajax United Premier 4-0.  Their only loss was to a strong Santa Clara Sporting Green team in the finals at 2-0.  Congratulations to all of the players for contributing to this successful tournament and to a successful season.  Our fantastic forwards are Eden Brooker, Tatia Dumbadsie, Destiny Grayer, Riley Michaels, Kayla Ryan and Paige Spradlin. Strong in the midfield are Payton Devore, Hailey Iribarne, Misty Martinez, and Kathleen Mateo. Allowing only 3 goals to get past them were the solid defenders, Jenae Anderson, Amanda Donohoe, Michaela DeMartini, Stephanie Mitchell, Lexi Martinez, and Tea Lopes. The first game against Bullard was a nail biter when Bullard was up 1-0 at the beginning of the 2^nd half.  Then with only 2 minutes left in the game, Eden Brooker scored with a pass from Destiny Grayer.  A minute later, Destiny scored with a pass from Eden.  In the game against Ajax United Elite, SCA was up 2-0 at half time with 2 goals by Riley Michaels (one assist by Eden Brooker).  The final score was 2-0.  In the third game against Ajax United Premier, SCA managed 3 goals in the first half, 2 by Misty Martinez and 1 by Kayla Ryan with all 3 assists by Riley.  In the second half, Misty gave SCA one more goal for a hat trick and a 4-0 final score.  In the championship game, SCA fought hard in the first half, giving up only one goal.  Santa Clara was very physical but SCA held them to only one more goal in the second half.
