 For those SCA families who may not be familiar with The Human Race, it is a wonderful fundraising opportunity and community event for all ages. The Human Race is a giant community party, with prizes, entertainment and refreshments. It also presents an opportunity for participants to raise money for their favorite non-profit organization, Sonoma County Alliance! Many SCA participants choose to run/walk as a team.WHERE AND WHEN: The Human Race takes place rain or shine, Saturday, May 9th, 2009. Registration, start and finish are all at Herbert Slater Middle School (3500 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa). Registration: 6:30 - 7:45 AM (you only need to register if you want your time recorded) Run starts: 8:00 AM WHAT DO I DO? Your player just needs to collect pledges from friends, family, neighbors and co-workers for each mile they run. A flat donation amount often works best for most. Of the pledges received, 75% will go directly into the player's personal SCA account, with an additional 10% going to the Club. This means: If your player collects $250 in pledges, $187.50 will be applied towards your monthly dues. If your player collects $500 in pledges, $375 will be applied towards your monthly dues! This fundraiser truly is one of the easiest and most beneficial ways to help you reduce your monthly costs.
