Tuesday, 30 September 2008 |
SCA is proud to announce that Neil Turnbull is the new Goalkeeping coach replacing Matt Bernard. Neil is currently coaching the U14 and U17 Boys and has been a part of SCA for 2 years now. Neil grew up in England and played goalkeeper as a youth. He played professionally for Darlington FC and Cardiff City. He has coached goalkeeping for SRU, SRJC, and the SOL. He will no longer be coaching the Santa Rosa High School Boys team in order to concentrate on goalkeeper training for SCA. He will practice with the goalkeepers 2 times a week. DOC Josh Sterling is very pleased that Neil has accepted this position, “ SCA has a great goalkeeping philosophy and way of playing. Neil will follow this same way of playing that Matt used, but it will be positive for the players to get it taught in another way. Neil brings different experiences than Matt and this is positive for the goalkeepers”
