SCA 92 Girls Mess with Texas |

On Thursday, May 28 Josh Sterling and the SCA 92 Girls boarded a plane and headed to Houston for the Texas Shootout College Showcase. The Shootout is the largest college showcase in the US, with more than 385 coaches from top universities looking to the future for top players to support their programs. With anywhere between 20-30 coaches coming to watch on the sidelines, the SCA 92 Girls didn’t disappoint. Battling top competition from across the United States as well as the heat and humidity, the team compiled a 2-1-0 record by defeating the Oklahoma State ODP team 1-0 and the Cincinnati Cardinal Premier 1-0. The single 0-1 loss to the Texas Classic Elites came on a fine direct kick that just managed to sneak into the goal. Goals were scored by Margi Osmundson and Melissa Madrid. Team members Chaniece Azevedo, Taylor Gehring, Kirsten Hilbert, Lexus Humphry, Lizzie Mitchell, Danielle Stave, Jessica Heitman, Kirstin Holmberg, Melissa Madrid, Natalee Simon, Carolyn Upton, and newcomer Samantha Lind were ably supported by SCA Girls guest players Ashley Luis, Margi Osmundson, and Taylor Derby.
