Training Pool Players

The Training Player Pool is made up of players who may be rostered on teams/clubs/leagues other than SCA, but would like the opportunity to get the high quality training that SCA has to offer. Training Pool players would pay the following fees:
 

  • US Club Soccer registration: $34.00
  • Sign up Fee: $145.00 ($100 for 2008-2009 Season)
  • Monthly Club Fee: $50.00
  • Purchase of training shirts $20

 


Teams utilizing Training Pool Players would be limited to 22 players on their US Club Soccer roster.
 
Before committing a player to the Training Pool, a coach may have the player participate in a maximum of 3 training sessions, as a try out period. During this time, the player and parent must be made aware of the Club’s policy on Training Pool Players.
 
Training Pool Players are not eligible for Players Assistance or other benefits offered to full members of SCA.
 
Training Pool players are registered only through US Club Soccer. Registration provides the player with insurance coverage. US Club Player passes are to be kept by SCA’s US Club Register.
 
Training Pool players have the following restrictions applied when the player is asked to participate in official games with SCA teams.

  • Managers/Coaches will need to request approval from the DOC for each game the player pool player participates in with the team.
  • Managers/Coaches will be provided with the training pool players US Club pass only for the games the player pool player has been approved for. Player passes will be held be SCA’s US Club Register when players are not participating in approved games.
  • Managers/Coaches will be required to return the player pass to the SCA Club Register within 72 hours of completion of the approved games.
  • For U8-U10 teams, in order to use training pool players for a game, the team must be below 11 players and cannot exceed 12 total players.
  • For U11-U18 teams, in order to use training pool players for a game, the team must be below 14 players and cannot exceed 16 total players.
  • If there are special circumstances outside these guidelines they must be presented to the DOC for approval.
  • Each Training Pool player would also pay their equal share of any event in which they participate (tournament entry fees, coach’s travel, personal travel costs, etc.).
  • Training Pool players can also participate in Hoek Experience. Training pool players would need pay for the cost of this camp.  

Petaluma United Player Exemption

To further our cooperation Petaluma United players identified by SCA coach and approved by the DOC can train one (1) day a week. They will need to be registered with US Club at the cost of $34. United Players that train more than once a week with an SCA team would not fall under the Petaluma United Player Exemption and would be required to pay all fees associated as a Training Pool player.
