Thank you to all of you who participated in this year’s survey. We have studied the results and are pleased to report that SCA received a higher overall rating than last year. On a scale of 1 to 5, the final overall “health” score was 3.44 (Good): higher than last year’s score of 3.26. Also, on the question regarding the value of the fee, the overall rating also improved from 2.87 (Fair) last year to 3.05 (Good) this year. Out of a player pool of 326, 157 responses were submitted, which is 48% of the club. This response rate is down from 60% last year. However over 11 teams had a 50% response rate. Other survey results are as follows:
- In the area of communication, the overall rating was 3.61. For the question, “How do you rate the quality of communication within your team,” the score was even higher at 3.90. The monthly newsletter, which is new this year, received a rating of 3.86. The rating for the quality of communication from the club was slightly low at 3.07. To improve communication from the board even further, the board is working on a way to get the minutes posted on the website in a more timely manner. This will require a new process on how minutes are approved.
- The section on the Academy, which applied only to the 98 and 99 boys and girls teams, ratings were high with an overall score of 3.65. We are very happy with the results of the Academy program, as it was an entirely new program for the U9-10’s this year.
- Very high ratings were also given to the coaches. The overall ratings for the coaches averaged 3.87, with 8 teams rating their coaches 4.0 or higher. It looks like after game press conferences could be improved however
- The Team/Player section, with questions regarding the player’s experience with the team, NorCal, Hoek camp, training days, tournaments and with the team’s parents, had an overall rating of 3.56. The rating for the Fall Norcal Experience did go up from 2.99 last year to 3.22 this year. This is an area that the club wanted to see some improvement.
While we are very pleased once again with the high ratings the club received this year. We are aware, however, of the parents who have concerns and expressed them in this survey. The purpose of this survey is to look at all ratings and comments and take action where it is needed. SCA as a league is a work in progress and we want to be as successful as we can to provide high quality soccer to your children. Thank you once again for your participation in the Annual Survey.
