On Sunday October 14th, the SCA 97 girls moved into the premier bracket after a 3-0 win in the qualifying round against extreme power from Sacramento. In the first half, the girls battled back and forth until at 20 minutes in Jillian van riper would be awarded a P.K. She took advantage with a nice easy put to the right corner. Five minutes later Amanda Galbraith was on a breakaway but at the 5 yard mark she slid a pass to Danielle Nunn who punched it into the empty net. The score at halftime was SCA 2, Power 0. In the second half the girls held down the offense of ex power time and time again. With about 7 minutes to play Amanda sent a cross into McKenzie Maher who ripped a one timer from about 15 yards out. The final score was SCA 3, Power 0. This game was fun and exciting to watch because of the total team effort! Strong showings from Delaney Frye (goalie), Sierra Overton, Taylor Ziemer, Gabby Lemos, Olivia Musil, Grace Forsell, Cami Renken, Nikki Elliott, Ellorine Carle, Lizzie Woerner, Liza Bernard, Madison Pelosi, Maddison Hansen and Shelby Evenich. Thank you girls for a great game and also thank you and congratulations to coach Trisha Ziemer.
