SCA 94 GIRLS TIE 2 IN A ROW
Wednesday, 30 May 2007
Saturday May 19th at Sonoma State University under cloudless summer skies the SCA 94 Girls played Modesto who had been undefeated in 5 games. In a hard fought battle SCA’s Michelle King scored midway in the first half on a cross from Nicole Beecham to lead Modesto . However, by halftime the score was tied. Midway through the 2nd half Modesto came back and it looked grim for SCA. But on a corner kick by Rebecca Yim, Annie Studdert came up with a well placed header to knock the ball in for the tie.

Later the same day at Sonoma State SCA 94 took on Livermore in what was another show of perseverance. Livermore had SCA down 2-0 when Noelle La Prevotte dribbled the ball up through several defenders to drill the ball high into the corner of the net to make it 2-1. With only 3 minutes left La Prevotte again made a driving kick to the net, but this time right at the goalie! The keeper attempted and seemed at first to stop the ball but, the force of the kick caused the goalie to ultimately bobble the ball past the goal line for the tie. The Girls are working well together, but are still attempting to get their routines down and are currently at 1-1-3 in the standings.  Their next game is against formidable Santa Clara at Kenilworth on 6/2
