| SCA 94 Girls Score Shutout in First Game of Norcal Spring League |

SCA’s 94 Girls, under the direction of Coach Eric Parish, traveled to Davis under cloudy skies Sunday April 22nd to defeat Davis Shock 2-0 at the Davis soccer complex. This year’s team, which is comprised of girls from last years 94 Girls white as well as returning members of the black team came out and dominated “Shock” for the majority of the game. SCA girls fought hard and with two fantastic diving saves made by goalie # 2 - Shelby Lord the score remained at 0-0 by the half. The second half saw an excellent passing game by the SCA team as well as some fierce defense by # 4 - Michelle King. It was late in the 2nd half when a perfectly executed corner kick from # 10 - Rebecca Yim was ”headed” in for a score by #9 - Lyndsay Gehring for a 1-0 lead. With minutes left # 18 - Noelle La Prevotte drove the ball down past midfield where it was passed to # 19 - Nicole Beecham who was poised at the goal line to “shoulder” the ball in for a 2-0 lead and the win! The girls appear to be working well together starting out this new season with a lot of games to go. Well-done Girls! |
