SCA Fall Survey for the 06-07 Season
Monday, 11 December 2006
A big thank you to everyone who participated in our Fall Survey. We have tabulated the results and would like to report that overall most parents are feeling good about SCA.  However, SCA received a slightly lower overall rating than last year. On a scale of 1 to 5, the final overall “health” score was 3.26 (Good) as compared to last year’s rating of 3.69. On the question regarding the overall value of the fee: the total rating also went down from 3.25 (Good) last year to 2.87 (Fair) this year.  Out of a player pool of 370, there were 222 responses submitted, which is 60% of the club.  This is up from last year’s 43% who responded. We appreciate the higher response rate and would like to thank the following teams who had a 50% or better participation rate: 92 Boys, 93 Boys White, 95 Boys, 96 Boys, 96 Boys White, 97 Boys Red, 98 Boys Black, 98 Boys Red, 91 Girls, 92 Girls, 93 Girls, 94 Girls, 95 Girls, 96 Girls, 97 Girls Black, 97 Girls Red and 98 Girls Black.  Other notable survey results are as follows:
  • Everyone unanimously liked the summer break, which applied only to U14 teams and younger.  The timing and length of the break were just right according to 85% and 82% of respondents.
  • The overall communication rating was 3.44 (Good). Most people prefer to receive communication from their coach and team through email, giving it an overall rating of 4.07 (Excellent).  People visit the SCA website on average twice a month
  • The Academy, which applies only to the 97 and 98 boys and girls teams, had very high ratings with an overall score of 3.68 (Good).
  • Very high ratings were given to the coaches.  The overall ratings for the coaches averaged 3.56, with 7 teams rating their coaches an Excellent.
  • The Team/Player section, with questions regarding the player’s experience with the team, NorCal, Hoek camp, training days, tournaments and with the team’s parents, had an overall rating of 3.56 (Good).  The player’s experience with the team rated a very high 3.83 (Good).

While we are very pleased with the relatively high average ratings in a few areas, SCA is aware of a few teams who gave much lower ratings to various aspects of the league’s operations.  The purpose of this survey is to look at those results and take action where it is needed.  The SCA board and coaches are always looking for ways to improve the league and we want to be as successful as we can to provide high quality soccer to your children.  Thank you once again for your participation in the Fall Survey.
