The Barcelona/Werder Breman game was an amazing night of soccer. Here is what the press said about the game.

“ It was the highest attendance of the season, even bigger than that for the Chelsea match (90,199) and the League clash with Sevilla (91,220). 95,824 people is about as good as it gets at the Camp Nou, whose capacity is limited to 96,232 for European matches due to the area of seats between the two sets of supporters not being offered for sale and certain zones being restricted for the use of television cameras.

The fans got behind the team from the very start, with a splendid mosaic covering the area along the touchline reading 'Som-hi tots' (Let's go). It was a wonderful welcome for the Barça players, and also a way of unsettling the Bremen squad in such an imposing venue as the Camp Nou.”

We upgraded our tickets and were sitting right behind the goal about 12 seats up. The atmosphere was amazing. Usually the Camp Nou is more like going to a theatre, where the fans are extremely educated on the game and only applaud in certain situations. However, with a win needed- the fans turned their sophisticated look on the game to act more like hooligans. The singing and chanting spurred the Barca players to victory.

The goal that was scored by Ronaldinho is being ranked by the press as his best goal ever for Barca, even better than his bicycle kick a few weeks ago. It was not a mistake that he went under the wall. The scouting done by the Barcelona scouts is top notch. They new the wall would jump if given the chance for a free kick that was close enough to shoot. The German magazine “Kicker” even recommended before the game that the wall should jump if Ronaldinho was given a chance for a free kick. Obviously this information back fired and Barclona advanced to the next round of the Champions league.

We went to the youth facilities yesterday and watched some youth teams train and play games. The facilities are brand new and are first class. Today we went to watch the first team train. We had passes to the closed training and got some nice pictures of the players close up. We then had a meeting with Paco Sarullio, whom is responsible for the physical conditioning of the players. Tonight I’m going to meet up with two of my friends that I played with at USF. Talk to everyone soon.
