After a long 14 hours of travel, I’ve finally made it to Eindhoven. I got off to a rough start in San Francisco. My flight was delayed 2 hours due to the smell of smoke in the back of the plane. After the technicians figured it was safe to fly we took off to London, where I would catch a connection flight to Amsterdam. Due to the two hour delay in San Francisco, I had to rush to the next terminal in London. I was able to make the flight, but my luggage was not able to make it aboard. So now I’m waiting to find out if the airlines can find my luggage and deliver it to me in Eindhoven.
However, with all this terrible news I find myself in very good
spirits. I took the train from Amsterdam to Eindhoven and met a few new
friends on the ride. It’s amazing how soccer brings the world together.
The Dutch guys were blown away on how much I new about Dutch soccer and
had a lot of questions about soccer in the United States.
I met Pepijn at the train station and we went to get a bite to eat and
catch up. After this we went back to his apartment to watch Celtic beat
Manchester United 1-0 in the Champions League.
Pepijn has planned an amazing week for me and I look forward to sharing
the experiences with everyone. Well I better try and sleep and get
adjusted to the time change.
