Gabe Rood and Matt Bernard were asked to attend the id2 Regional Training Camp in Irvine, Ca to be evaluators/trainers. Gabe who directs the Northern California id2 program will be working with all the field players and Matt will be training and evaluating all the Goalkeepers. Both were invited based on recommendations from the Regional rep for US Clubs Soccer’s id2 program. The id2 Regional Training Camps bring together the nation’s top youth players for four days of competition, evaluation and fun. Players are identified to participate in the id2 Regional Training Camps as a result of a yearlong scouting program. An invitation only event, the id2 National Regional Camps also seek to identify and develop the country’s best players for inclusion in US Soccer’s youth national team programs. US Soccer Youth Development Program staff are in attendance at the id2 Regional Training Camps to monitor players’ performances. Once players arrive at the id2 National Training Camp, US Club Soccer covers all player expenses. Players’ training uniforms, balls, bags and other equipment are provided by Nike, the Official Equipment Supplier of US Club Soccer. 2006 id2 Regional Training CampsThe 2006 id2 program is moving to a regional format and will include girls’ age groups for the first time. Boys and girls with ’93 and ’94 birth years are eligible to participate in the 2006 id2 program. Rather than staging a National Training Camp in 2006, the id2 program will consist of three regional events across the country. US Soccer Youth Development Program staff will be on site at these id2 Regional Training Camps to scout players for inclusion in the U14 National Team Program: Oct. 6-9 in Zarephath, N.J., hosted by PDA for Boys and Girls Oct. 6-9 in Irvine, Calif. hosted by Coast Soccer League for Boys and Girls Oct. 12-15 in Chicago, Ill. hosted by Chicago Magic for Boys |
