SCA 94 Girls Take 3rd Place in the Sac United Suntan Classic Tournament |

 On August 12th & 13th, the SCA 94 Girls, coached by Trisha Ziemer, played against some very good competition in the Suntan Classic. Their first game against a very physical Chiva's ended in a tie 1-1 with a goal from Rebecca Yim assisted from a perfectly laid back ball from Michelle Garrone. With minutes remaining Chiva's had a kick ball moment with a really lucky ball that bounced over the goalie. Later in the afternoon the girls played old rivals Boca Juniors. All the girls played well and wanted the win. They beat Boca 2-0 with two great goals. First goal was a nice shot from Michelle G, with an assist from Rebecca. Kayla Elliott scored a great power goal, with an assist from Ashley Patton. On Sunday the girls needed to win against Rush Nike to move onto the finals. However this wasn’t to be and the game ended in a 1-1 tie with a goal scored from Michelle G. The girls then faced Placer in their final game, after being robbed of a chance to play in the finals the girls were determined to go home with a medal. A foul on Annie gave the girls a final chance to win the game. Rebecca took the free kick, 25 yards outside the box and bent it over the goalie's hands to score. The game ended in a 1-0 win for SCA for 3rd place. Well-done girls!!
