SCA Board Minutes - May 23, 2005

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m.

Registration for our 23 teams is complete. Fee paid to CYSA District V Division I- $75.00 per team for total of $1,725.00 – paid 5/13/05. Danny thanked Joni and Tony for their facilitation of SCA team meetings. Letter of complaint re SCA U-15G who was approached by Santa Rosa United coach has been filed with District V. Josh’ request for one-way flight to Boise prior to SCA teams’ arrival was approved.

NorCal Report (Dave): Volunteers NEEDED for lining fields and setting of flags. Players on Players’ Assistance will be contacted to help with this task. The cost for Porta-Toilets for Sonoma Mountain, Corona Creek and Wiseman will be shared with PYSL. Garbage cans are unavailable at school sites. Managers are being asked to supply bags and make sure that garbage is picked up at school sites. SCA is at risk of losing Corona Creek as a playing field because of the garbage left on 5/22/05. A letter of apology will be sent to Waugh School District. Coaches need to remind team of responsibility to pick up after themselves.

U-9 Playdate went well. Joni was acknowledged for her work with concessions, Danny for check-in, PYSL youth referees for their work, Josh and SCA coaches for help with nets – many positive comments were received. The scope of the event was much larger than anticipated.

21 games were played this past weekend. Olders need adult referees Reminder: EACH team needs two registered referees.

U-9 PLAYDATE – May 15th: Joni reported that a profit of $1,040 was made. Participating Player’s Assistance families who worked the concessions were credited a total of $630, the remaining $410 will be allotted to player’s assistance families.

HUMAN RACE REPORT: Susan reported that we raised $13,700 last year – if we earn more there is the possibility of earning “bonus money.” $20,000 has been submitted to-date. 16 players raised over $300 – they’ll receive balls at Hoek Experience. Susan is organizing information packets for Boise trip – need Code of Conduct , medical forms, adult supervision and official check-in for all those attending – forms must be on the bus. Reminder that bus drivers need to be tipped – collect tips before trip.

JUGGLING CONTEST: Susan and Josh are coordinating for July 9-10 and 23-24 at SSU.

SECOND TEAM MANAGER’S AND TREASURER’S MEETING: Dave, Kathi and Rick to attend at Lucchesi – 7 p.m. on May 26, 2005.

PYSL/RPSL: The Board declined the offer to share in the cost for the United storage container at Lucchesi field. Re RPSL – new officers for Referee Coord., Any Phillips is new V. Pres.

STATE CUP APPLICATION FEE: Increased from $350 to $450.

FUNDRAISING: Sue suggested that we move toward having our own non-profit number.

TREASURER’S REPORT: RE U-14G – (Board approved 5 – 2) Team needs to pay goalie fees, and $50 will be left on their account – if they miss a Board Rep meeting then fees will be reinstated. U-17G – money will be left in account; U-16G (Wht) registration fees haven’t yet been deposited.

UNIFORMS: Roger has fired Puma rep. and is working directly with Puma administration. By July 15th all Puma will be here(minus the youth white jersey – players to receive complimentary jersey. Kappa uniform pieces are being printed. Youth medium shorts – all players to receive one pair and will wait for other pair. Kombat will give club discount and percentage to SCA from purchases made from their website.

DIVISION I MEETING ON WED. MAY 25TH: Josh and Tony to attend.

COACHES AND/OR MANAGER TO ATTEND June 4th meeting – U-9’s – 14’s – be prepared with possible date conflicts for league games.
