Please remember that all play-ups are reviewed on a year-to-year basis. A previous year of playing up is not a valid reason to remain a play-up. There are only a handful of reasons for a player to be playing up in the U11-U19 age groups. The reasons in these age groups are limited to player development reasons and not based on social reasons. If a player is truly dominate in his or her age level and can move up a year and still be a strong and dominate player in the age group above then it may be reason to have a player move up. These requests will be reviewed by the SCA technical staff and coaches in the two age groups during tryouts. The final decision will be made by the DOC with input from the technical staff and coaches of the two age groups affected. All decisions will be strictly soccer based and with the individual player’s development and future in mind. In the older age groups a player’s graduation year may be additional item used in the decision since this is important to college recruitment.
