SCA Board Minutes - June 20, 2005
Monday, 20 June 2005
Danny called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.

PARKING PASSES for SSU: should be available by the end of this week. Team managers will be phoned for notification of pass arrival.

NOR CAL UPDATE: Play for this league is nearly complete – any makeups for age groups 10 – 13 needs to be complete by 7/16/05. ***Teams should budget roughly $500 for Winter NorCal (Oct – Jan ’06) This covers the registration of approximately $175 and $325 for referees. This is an elimination Cup, so referee cost is determined by advancement. U-9s and 10’s won’t be participating in summer jamborees due to date conflicts (6v6 and SCA vacation on 7/31). There is the possibility that these teams will receive a $175 credit. Teams may be participating in a November jamboree. If teams are going to CYSA jamboree, contact Terry or Karen T. so they can prioritize team’s credentials.

FIREWORKS UPDATE: Managers have received packets - volunteers need to be scheduled – NO CHILDREN in booth – must be 18 years of age. We have the use of a credit card machine this year. Volunteers will earn $10 per hour – this is designated as partial payment towards Hoek Experience.

HUMAN RACE UPDATE: We met our goal of $22,000 (actual $22,005 – thanks to Joni!) Players who raised over $300 will receive a soccer ball during Hoek Experience. Must make deposits by JUNE 30th.

BOISE, IDAHO Tournament: Susan distributed managers’ packets – completed paperwork (signed Code of Conduct, medical forms, etc.) is due to Susan by Thursday, June 30th. Reminder: Responsible supervision is expected.

PLAYER ASSISTANCE: There is an immediate need for an SCA Player Assistance Fundraiser Coordinator (this is separate from Sue Bolt’s position of Fundraising Chair.) We do have See’s candy in stock to sell – selling dates will be announced.

PROTOCOL FOR SCA INQUIRIES: Josh requested that all inquiries be directed to the Board member most closely associated with inquiries – PLEASE use the website to obtain e-mail addresses/phone numbers. Please do not phone/e-mail Danny Ortega as your initial contact.
