Monday, 06 March 2006
ImageOn February 18th, the SCA younger ages ended their season with an ice cream social and awards ceremony.  There was a lot to celebrate this year as 7 teams were honored with 1st 2nd, or 3rd place awards in District V competition.  Also every year, one boys and one girls coach is honored.  This year, the Boy’s Coach of the Year went to Gabe Rood, who coaches the 96 Boys Black and 93 Boys.  Girl’s Coach of the Year went to Vinnie Cortezzo who coaches the 93 Girls.  Both coaches represent the very best of SCA in their hard work, spirit and their love of the game.

During the awards ceremony, one member of each team was presented with the Alliance Award.  This person is selected by their own teammates and is someone who they feel best represents the Alliance virtues of: Attitude, Love of the Game, Leadership, Insight, Ability, Noble, Commitment, and Effort.  This year’s winners are: Tony Lopez (97B Red), Jason Yim (97B Black), Rogelio Brambia (96B Red), Ryan Anderson (96B Black), Orville Gramajo (95B), Ethan Wenker (95B White), Edgar Amador (94B), Anthony Monraz (94B White), Sean Trott (93B), Sierra Overton (97G), Kayla Kimball (96G), Cierra Iribarne (95G), Lyndsay Gehring (94G), Aubrey Hagens (94G White), and Savanna Scheiner (93G).  In addition, one boy and one girl were selected by the coaches to receive the Alliance Award for the whole league.  Those winners are Edgar Amador and Cierra Iribarne.  Congratulations to all of the Alliance Award winners who represent the best among an outstanding group of players!
