1. PYSL AGM – will be held at Lucchesi Center on Friday, January
27th. All teams who placed first through fourth in league are
asked to attend. Teams will received awards and are requested to
attend in uniform. All teams have a vote for the PYSL board
positions. Note: SCA Boys State Cup begins on 1/28 so these
teams will be unable to attend. Danny reported that United has voted against “Age Pure” teams. II. NorCal Report – Re NorCal league play, Dave reported that most games have been played in spite of rain and administrative challenges – administration is working to eliminate problems – a reminder that growth can create additional problems. A question was posed re distance required to travel to opponents like Fresno. Josh responded that NorCal will continue to accept teams who may be located in distant areas – Gold and Premiere teams usually require greater travel distances; whereas, Bronze & Silver divisions may be more local. There are currently 450 teams registered in this league. III. Tryouts – will begin in late February. Please refer to the website for specific dates. Tryouts will be held collectively for Division I & III. The movement of players from one group to another may be apparent during tryouts. Contact Karen Turner if you are able to assist with tryouts – help needed to set up tables, etc. IV. Fields & Schedules –Josh sent an e-mail to District V re their responsibility for turning on lights at Lucchesi for winter league. If your team needs lights during the upcoming month contact Tracie at: This email address is being protected from spam bots, you need Javascript enabled to view it for reservations. V. Fields Committee: David Rabbitt, Chair of Fields Committee, reported that they will begin to look for money in February. April is the date for financial obligations to be met by developer who currently has property – if it falls through PYSL/SCA will negotiate with City for three potential fields on property. IX. DOC Report: Josh announced that the U11G will compete in the NorCal bronze division semi-finals in Fresno in February. The 11B and 12G will also be competing in their respective divisions. Older teams: most have begun District V playing league. Coaching Staff: there will be changes – announcements to come. Matt Bernard will assist with goalkeeper program. Reminder that coaches may stay with a team for a maximum of three years; after two years there is a great possibility of a team having a new coach. Team formation: Players may tryout for play-ups but very rare, especially age 11 and up. For U-9s and 10s – even teams will be formed – NOT necessarily the same teams they had the previous year. U9G may form as two 10s teams. StateCup: U11G, 12G &13G and 13B will compete on 1/21/06. 1/28 – U11 and 12B. X.
